About Me

I am a Certified Professional Midwife, and live with my husband and two sons in Bayfield, CO. I love caring for my family, working in my garden, mushroom hunting, and riding my horses. I feel so blessed that my "work" is providing care for moms and babies. I can't imagine doing anything else!

My interest in Midwifery was first piqued when studying at the Appalachian School of Holistic Herbalism in Asheville, NC. Upon completion of the course I moved to Colorado and began to grow my own family. My first birth was attended by wonderful midwives and surpassed all of my expectations of childbirth. The experience expanded my own understanding of the journey to motherhood, and I became committed to studying midwifery. I completed my studies through the National College of Midwifery while working as an apprentice for 5 years with multiple midwives. I have experienced love, joy, loss, and grief through my own various birth experiences. The constant that has remained throughout it all is the model of women supporting women, and the empowerment, wisdom, and gratitude that results.
